Did someone hit fast forward?

As I lay in bed on this rainy day with my little one swinging in her swing next to me all I can think of is time. Where does it go ? How does it go by so fast? Everything seems like it comes and goes in the blink of an eye. Everyone always use to tell me " as you get older time goes by even faster." Ugh I wish they were lying when they told me that ! I'm pretty sure I was just in 8th grade, the year I fell for my husband. He was in 9th & we talked on the phone for hours daily . We would watch tv shows over the phone & laugh for hours! Oh the sweet innocence , no cares in the world. Little did we know the next 13 years were going to flash before our eyes & we were going to be married with a beautiful babygirl ! At that point we didn't even know that by the time we were 16 we would be "boyfriend & girlfriend". I feel like it was yesterday we starting dating, thinking we were soo grown. I worked at an ice cream stand & he would come visit me on his motorcycle. Oh man I thought he was so cool. Let's just hope Hadley is never into a boy on a motorcycle, I know her daddy won't stand for that! We had our break ups here and there and people would say "your young there's other people out there" , "it's just puppy love". Well this was something people were wrong about , no one ever compared to him, it was not puppy love, he is my true love. My soul mate, you can think I'm a cheese ball all you want but we both truly believe there is that one special person in the world for you! We were lucky to find our soulmates so young. So many memories of things that feel like they were yesterday! Highschool, prom, those friends that sadly become strangers, the friends that become closer, vacations, parties, good days, bad days, birthdays, where did it go? Who hit the fast forward button while I wasn't looking? My pregnancy, did it even happen? I look back at pictures from just 7 1/2 weeks ago and feel like it was gone in a flash! My Hadley is 7 1/2 weeks already!!! Almost 2 months ! How? I'm pretty sure it was just yesterday I peed on a stick and got those two fabulous pink lines my husband and I were waiting for! She's growing so quickly! The days just roll into eachother, I want to bottle up the time! As close as I can get to that is taking pictures of all her precious moments ! Hey even the not so precious ! I could remanice all day & sit here shocked about how fast time goes by. But as fast as it goes I am thankful for every single moment. Time is precious, good & bad. Make every moment count, even the ones that don't feel important, they all are.

DIY Head Wraps for Mama & Baby

Ok so I am super into DIY projects.  I swear now a days you can find out how to do everything on the internet ! Pinterest is amazing, I think many of you will agree with me there. I also figure out how to do a lot on youtube. My latest DIY project has been head wraps for miss Hadley & I. They are definatly my new obsession and my go to hairstyle! I am so excited about them being such a hot trend right now! They are a perfect statement piece or just a quick fix for a bad hair day! I love wearing them with just a simple top knot! It makes me look a little more put together than I actually am while looking fashionable! The days I take more time to get ready, l love wearing them with my hair down & some beachy waves! They are surprisingly super easy!! The last few I made were even easier but my latest ones I decided to make look more professional and use a sewing machine. I have never ever used a sewing machine in my life. Well maybe a few times and that was in my 6th grade home economics class. That basically doesn't even count, I don't remember what I ate for breakfast nevermind remember how to use a sewing machine after 15 or so years! After a trip to Jo Anns fabric with my coupons in hand, I found a fabric that I loved & 50% off! Oh it was also the first time Hadley full blown cried in a store, that was rough. My mom broke out her ancient looking sewing machine & talked me through it ! Luckily I only needed to learn how to do a straight line & I cant even guarantee it came out that straight. But it is a start, right? It was really fun & I felt all domestic propped at a sewing machine. I think I found a new hobby ! Below I listed step by step how to make a head wrap along with some pictures to help explain more ! Feel free to ask any questions !

You will need:
Stretchy fabric
Scissors
Measuring tape
Sewing machine
Pen
Pins

1. Measure the circumference of your head, times it by 2 & add another 1/2 inch to and inch for sewing! You don't want the exact length or it will be to small once you sew it. ( I know this first hand because the first one I made for Hadley was too little , oops)

2. Decide what width you would like, I personally like thick head wraps but you can do as thick or thin as you would like ! I did mine 8 1/2 inches. The wrap in the picture below was Hadley's & hers is 4 1/2 inches.

3. Fold the fabric in half, inside out and measure out and mark your length and width. Cut along your measurements.

4. Now pin along the entire length where you will be sewing. Once all your pins are in place bring it over to the sewing machine and sew a straight line all the way down to the bottom! Now your left with a long tube of fabric , flip right side out!

5. Fold the the fabric in half with the seam on the outside in the middle, line up your open ends and pin in place. Now sew a line straight down. What your left with is a big circle.

6. Flip the circle so all the seams are on the inside. Twist the middle of the circle once.

7. Twist one more time

8. Tuck the back pieces inside eachother & tada ready to wear !

This was another style I made for little miss Hadley.
It started off as a mistake, and turned out to be adorable :)
Nothing like a little improvising!

The perfect accessory for a casual bad hair day, Oh & I am obsessed with these new shorts from forever 21 ! The ones I ordered at 3am one night when I was feeding Hadley ! I am going to do a post of some of my favorite trends for me & new purchases soon!

Sleep Deprived Mama ...

Sleep deprived mama. A term that has become very familiar to me. Oh what time is it you ask? 1:30 am, yup. Sleep has a whole new meaning to me now a days. It is the holy grail of all things! Since I've had Hadley the total amount of sleep I acquire at a time is about 2-3 hours & then she is ready to feed! By the time I feed her, change her, burp her & put her back down about 30min goes by. Not tonight though, this tiny human wants to show off her lung strength & let me tell you its strong! I slept for an hour & a half & now I've been up for 2, yikes! ...Well luckily the night got better after that and I was able to get a few 2 hour stretches of sleep out of her. Phew! Funny how getting to sleep 2-3 hours at a time becomes a good thing! My doctor asked me at my appointment this past week how often she wanted to eat at night, I pleasantly said every 2-3 hrs sometimes a little more! She replied with " wow atleast your positive about it ". What else am I going to do? It sure beats the waking up every 1/2 hour to 45 min the first few weeks! That you would not hear me say in positive tone! Yes I'm absolutely still sleep deprived but not like that ! That was zombie status ! Those were the nights I was crying with her on the boob cause I was so exhausted ! Or it could of been that my nipples didnt really love feeding a baby right away & felt like they were going to fall off. Who knows. Those were the nights I looked at my husband sleeping like a baby & wanted to throw everything in the bedroom at him. After all he could sleep because he didn't carry the magical potion in his pecks. Don't get me wrong he is wonderful & will help out with anything else he can! Can I just go back a few sentences, who came up with "sleeping like a baby"??? I'm sorry but NO I do not want to sleep like a baby, I am sleeping like a baby right now! I want to sleep like a full blown tired adult. You have to love when people say to new moms "sleep when they sleep" oh sure because my day doesn't go by fast enough that I want to sleep it away. I already feel like my morning to night is only a 4 hour spand! There is not enough time in the day as it is! Even though I am adjusting to this sleep pattern I will be looking forward to the post I write in the future that starts off " oh my goodness she slept through the night "! I can dream right ? Fingers crossed to a better night sleep tonight!

Have a fabulous day!

Pregnancy, A beautiful yet not so beautiful thing..

Pregnancy, a beautiful yet not so beautiful thing. I always had in my head that I would have this super glamorous pregnancy. Dressed to the nines everyday with the perfect baby bump. Well luckily I had a nice bump but I was far from dressed to the nines. I was not that pregnant lady you would be pinning on your "pregnancy fashion" pinterest board. Oh well. There were a few times I made it seem like I was that girl. Snapping pictures of my "outfit of the day" but those outfit pictures were pretty much the only times I looked liked that. Fashion was not my strong point during my pregnancy, actually I am not sure what was. I started out feeling blah & then I got hit with the dreaded morning sickness which was actually all day sickness from 11-16weeks! Whoever came up with the term "morning sickness" and made woman think they would only be sick at the beginning of the day & then prance around like a sparkling unicorn the rest of the day SUCKS. At this point in my pregnancy I made the hard decision to give up my career as a hairstylist. It was my dream, I had a big clientele, was this the right choice? This question drove me nuts, people thought I was nuts for leaving my success behind. I had some clients completely support me while other clients did the opposite. Some were quit rude, you would think I asked them to give me their first born child and all their other valuable possessions. As my pregnancy continued I turned into that crazy pregnant lady, I literally would scan google and think I had every horrific thing that could happen during pregnancy! At this point I could probably be an OBGYN with all the stuff I know. I need both of my hands to count how many ER trips I took, a couple nurses even recognized me, how embarrassing! I am lucky to have an amazing husband & mother who put up with me. One afternoon I was having my daily meeting with the porcelain throne getting sick and having the worst nose bleed of my life. Actually my first nose bleed ever! As I yelled for my husband my inner hypochondriac told me I was going to bleed out and die on my bathroom floor. Picture that scene, nothing but a hot mess, I told you I was far from a glamorous pregnant woman.  But my entire pregnancy was not full of barf & anxiety. There were many beautiful moments. The first time I felt her move, the first time my hubby and I felt her kick, the first time we heard her heartbeat, finding out we were having a girl, seeing her at the ultrasounds. It was all surreal, as blah as I felt it was all still perfect. She was always very active, I would sit for hours and watch her wiggle beneath my skin. I looked forward to taking my weekly bump picture & sending it to my husband while he was at work, super sexy huh. I would do it all again in a heart beat, ok not a heart beat but I will do it again ! Did I make the right decision leaving my dream job, absolutely. Being a hairstylist is my second dream job now & sooner or later I will make my comeback. Right now I am doing my dream job, staying home & being the best mommy I can be to Hadley.

This was one of those times I looked like a put together pregnant woman. Our maternity shoot with our photographer Tara Renaud Photography. She has captured all of our amazing moments, engagement shoot, wedding, maternity & Hadleys newborn session. Enjoy!

Happy Sunday,
Xo

I loved what she did with this, top was our engagement session 2 years ago.
Such a beautiful idea. I shed some tears when I saw this one.

True life: I am addicted to shopping

Shopping has always giving me a thrill ! How exciting huh? Guess it doesn't take much to please me! There's just something about a brand new outfit ! I have always loved fashion and shopping, atleast as long as I can remember ! I picked that trait up from my mama & we do it very well. She's way better though, a smart shopper. I am the impulse, oh my goodness I need this or I'll just die shopper! The one that passes up on buying something and goes home and dreams about it until I OF COURSE go back and buy it the next day! Oops, my poor hubby! If only shopping could be my job. Now my closet has taken a back seat. Well ok not really, I'm patiently awaiting my Forever 21 package that I ordered at 3am while feeding my munchkin last week (another oops). Hey what can I say it feels good to put together some stylish outfits after being in yoga pants and maternity clothes for 9months! My newest addiction though is shopping for miss Hadley! Oh man these baby clothes just get cuter & cuter. The trends they have for these kiddies are amazing & I just want to have it all. The one thing and only thing about her growing quick is having to buy her new clothes. Hopefully she likes to shop as much as I do! I mean she did have her first trip to the mall at 3 weeks dressed in a fabulous tutu dress of course. She slept the whole time but still managed to score some super fabulous outfits. I wish I could sleep all day and wake up to great clothes. I posted some of the baby girl trends I have been obsessing over lately, they are way to cute not to share. The black, white & golds are killing me right now. Of course when I break down and purchase some of them you will see pictures of Hadley rocking them ! Until then she will rock all the other adorable outfits she has! How sick is it I sometimes plan her outfits out the night before! Yikes get a life Torie. Well enjoy these super cute little pieces! I'll post the links as well so you can indulge for your little ones or just window shop like I did! Besides the perfect gold bow, that one I purchased and I am anxiously awaiting it's arrival (oops) & yes I already have outfits planned for it ! Is that bad?

Have a great week Y'all XO

Meet Hadley Willow

Meet Hadley Willow the precious baby love that inspired me to start this blog! Just a few days shy of 7 weeks & she has already captured my entire heart. Miss Hadley was born Sunday May 25th at 8:48pm. She was 7lbs 1oz and 20 inches long. It was the most amazing moment of my life! Nine months of dreaming about what my little lady would be like & there she was laying on my chest. Every emotion floods your body, it's love at first sight! No book, blog or person can prepare you for the amazing feeling of meeting your child for the first time! They also can not prepare you for what's to come (I'll save that sleep deprived, diaper blow out, spit up wearing information for another post) Within just a short 7 weeks she's developed into this amazing tiny human ! She's reconizing voices, smiles up a storm & is extremely alert ! Don't tempt her with a good starring contest, she will win! Those big happy eyes could gaze into yours for hours. Squirming & sqeeking is her favorite thing to do ! She's always moving, which is not any different than when I was pregnant with her. My bump always looked as if I was housing an alien, lucky for me I was not. She's extremely content & happy all the time until she realizes she's gone to long without her two best friends, left & right boob! Her big huge smile & the cutest little dimple on her right cheak lights up my world! Watching her grow and change day to day is such a beautiful thing! The smile on her face when I say "goodmorning baby" in my obnoxious over the top baby voice is priceless. It is by far the most amazing way to start any day, even if it doesn't follow a fabulous night sleep. Nothing can take that happiness away from you, not even getting poop all over you at 7am. Yup that was my morning today! Before she was born the thought of poop on me at 7 am would have me repulsed and want to barf! Not now, I couldn't help but laugh as I starred at the look on her face. The look that seemed to say "yes mommy that did just happen, your welcome & good morning". Oh motherhood your so gross yet so glam !! I love my Hadley Willow & being a mommy!

Happy Friday XO

Here goes nothing

I figured I would start "Hello Hadley" off by doing a post about why I have decided to enter the blogging world. Hmm well I don't really know why, all I know is I have a lot to share! I am by no means a writer, I spell wrong & I will probably never ever write a complete sentence or it will be a run on (like now) sorry! All I know is I love to talk & I love social media, with that said why not blog!!! Right?
My life has dramatically changed within the last year & I love every second of it ! I went from being a busy hairstylist who took plenty of time perfecting my hair & outfits in the morning to being lucky if the bun on top of my head is straight. Oh and of course make sure I have no breast milk leaking through my shirt.. Hello motherhood! My daily instagram "outfit of the day" has become my beautiful baby girls "outfit of the day" ! Don't get me wrong there are still days where I actually get ready and snap a picture of me. I use to think getting out of the house on time was a struggle & that was just making sure my husband & I were ready to go. Leaving the house now I feel like I am getting ready for a week long vacation. Oh don't let me forget to add the days Hadley poops right when she gets strapped and settled in her car seat, there goes another 10 minutes. I always said that when I had a baby I would still take the time to get ready everyday, hair extensions & full face of make up. Yah OK, I go for the natural approach now, real hair,  no makeup & a shirt with easy access to the boob. Saving those glamorous days for special days, like going to the mall. Yup I said it, the mall ! I'm obsessed with fashion & a huge shopaholic. My closet has been put on hold and my little ones closet is growing at a frantic rate! Like I said my life has changed dramatically & not one thing I would change, I am obsessed with being a mother. Hadley Willow has stole my heart & inspired me to create a blog to talk about her, my family, fashion, DIY & whatever random things pop into this crazy brain of mine.. so I guess that's it, I do know the reason I have decided to blog, my daughter!

I hope you continue to follow my journey
